During this Atlanta home inspection I was inspecting the attic in this North Atlanta home and found the following issue. As an Atlanta home inspector, it is my job to thoroughly check all areas of the home to make sure that you don’t end up with a money pit. I have heard of Atlanta home inspectors that either don’t or can’t get all the way into the attic to inspect it. What they do is put a latter up into the attic scuttle hole, pop their head up through the hole take a quick look around and call it inspected. I find so many issues up in the attic when I am doing an Atlanta home inspection that I would not feel like I was doing you, my client, a thorough job, if I didn’t go all the way into the attic. 
The last thing you want is to have an issue like I found in this picture that would cause you financial hardship after you have closed on your dream home. This one issue could cost you over time, by creating higher electricity bills and once you did find it, you would then be responsible for putting the attic insulation in. Needless to say the buyers that hired me to do this North Atlanta home inspection, were very happy that I found where the home owners had added an addition onto the home and failed to have it insulated. The sellers wondered why their electricity bill was so high. They never dreamed that the contractor didn’t finish the job completely. And of course they didn’t ever go up in the attic themselves.
